The North Dakota Department of Transportation’s (DOT) written permit test covers three main driving areas – road rules, driving regulations and road signs. It’s this third area that we have targeted with our new practice test. On this test you’ll find questions on five types of road signs, including regulatory and informational signs. Since road signs make up a large portion of the questions on the written permit test, this practice test could be essential to you earning a passing score and starting to learn to drive in “the Peace Garden State.”

You will be given 25 multiple choice questions on this practice test. You need to answer at least 80 percent (or 20) correctly in order to pass. The questions are taken from the North Dakota drivers handbook. In addition to boasting similar questions to the permit test, this practice test also includes several bonus features.

After you answer each question, the instant feedback feature will let you know if your answer is right or wrong and it will also give you a detailed explanation of the correct answer. In addition to this feature, there is also a question randomizer that reorders the questions each time you take the test. By the way, you can take this test as many times as you want, there is no limit. The test is also free. Take it now.
