Minnesota drivers pride themselves on being safe and responsible behind the wheel. But to accomplish this level of prodigious skill, they must first pass the state’s official permit test.

A number of prospective drivers opt to take their permit tests electronically, although paper exams are also available. Our Minnesota practice permit test, similar to the official electronic version, is a great tool for hopefuls still not feeling 100 percent prepared. This multiple choice exam includes 40 questions, 80 percent of which must be answered correctly in order to pass.

Instant Feedback and Detailed Progress Tracking

Every time you answer a question, you will immediately know whether you’re on track or need a little help. If you select the correct answer, the question will be highlighted in green. Incorrect answers are highlighted in red and accompanied by helpful explanations. A progress tracker shows you have many questions you’ve answered correctly and how many more you need to pass the test. If you end up failing the exam, you are always welcome to take it again!

Minnesota Specific Questions

Permit exams vary from one state to the next, so it’s important to prepare for the unique questions included on the official Minnesota test. Our practice permit test includes several questions that reflect current traffic laws in the state of Minnesota.

Social Media and Score Sharing

Proud of your test results? You should be! Feel free to share your progress on Twitter or Facebook — our handy score sharing tool allows you to boast about your driving knowledge and challenge your friends.

The last thing you want is to leave the testing office without your learner’s permit. A little studying is all it takes to avoid this awful fate.
